Perfect Place To Start May 11, 2011
By Austin Dalyai
"ATD"
If Chris LeDoux had gotten any significant radio play in the 70's, this would be his first "Greatest Hits" album. Since he did not get his just dues for some time after this, the album is simply a collection of Chris' favorite songs he recorded over the first 8 years of his career. 12 tracks that are pulled from most of his first handful of albums, with no new songs, and no oddities. Therefore, I feel this is the perfect place to start if you aren't familiar with Classic Chris LeDoux. You will be able to get a very good idea of what you might be in store for before purchasing any of the older albums. While his most recent release prior to this, 1978's paint Me Back Home In Wyoming, gets a bigger share of representation on here, and his first album, Songs Of Rodeo Life, is completely ignored, the rest of this album is spread nicely across 8 years of supurb Cowboy and Country music.
So, if you want to find out what Mr. LeDoux was all about in his younger days, you need look no further than Sounds Of The Western Country.
