Merle at his Best Aug 26, 2010
I have three DVD of Merle Haggard in concert, this is the best of all!
Great concert for Merle and his Great Band May 22, 2010
Merle has assembled a dream band and gives a great performance. His guitar playing is featured and is a rare treat as he usually gives the knod to other, and in this case to Lefty Frizell's ex guitar player.
I saw merle in the fall of 2009 and it was the greatest concert I've ever seen. This DVD comes close, but see him with Noel and his son playing guitar and you are in for a treat. Get this DVD. All the sidemen are with him and he delivers a solid set.

Merle Haggard at his best, super AV Jun 09, 2008
I have seen Merle Haggard, center stage up front, twice. The first time was 1968 in the El Paso County Coliseum. The second time was 30 years later at Floores Country Store in Helotes. For both concerts he and The Strangers were at their peak. I have been a fan all these years. This DVD is a must for any who appreciate Haggard. The audio and video quality are superb. Live music just doesn't get better.

Not to be missed! Feb 25, 2008
This is the best concert I have ever seen. Other reviewers think it's not as polished as other bands or recordings in the past. But that is what makes it better. There is a feel of old guys playing on the back porch for the neighbors. I prefer the old and seasoned voice of Merle than the younger. These are "old country singers" singing and playing to perfection because they are having fun playing for themselves. Like the critically acclaimed CD "If I could only fly" this DVD is not to be missed.

This is a DVD that we will watch over and over. It's Merle at his best. I love Janie Fricke, but Bonnie Owens' was a much better match for Merle's style. We miss her.
