Eder Goes Beyond Wildhorn and Shines Feb 19, 2003
By Derek J. A. Thomas Linda Eder's new CD is a fabulous trip through the Great White Way. Favorite tracks: Edelweiss and subtle and beautifully sung, I Am What I Am is full of power and emotion, Some People is technically perfect, and The Impossible Dream may be the best version ever recorded. It's just magnificent. Also don't miss two beautiful songs that have become standards in Linda's concerts: What Kind of Fool and Don't Rain on My Parade. The CD is what lots of fans have been waiting for: a move beyond the writings of her husband Frank Wildhorn. And the result is the quintessential Broadway CD. Perfect.

Broadway - - The ONLY Way Feb 20, 2003
By Jo The VOICE is back after only a year with another clear winner. Her voice may be a gift from above but she maximizes it to absolute perfection. In the spirit of the finest who ever trod the boards, the interpretations on this CD is destined to become a Broadway classic for generations to come. Listening to this collection of Broadway classics transport you to another time, when life appeared simpler and more meaningful. Linda never fails to put her best voice into her efforts, but how much better can it get? Well, Broadway, My Way amply demonstrates that we've seen nothing yet! Each time you think she can't possible get any better, she does! Without a doubt, the synergy of this miraculous collection, heavenly executed and imaginatively arranged so as to delight your ears, deeply touch the core of your heart and imbed itself into your very soul. I can't wait to hear this collection live, since as marvelous as Linda is in the studio, she absolutely soars when live!

Broadway's Best - Linda Eder-style Feb 20, 2003

Linda Eder - Broadway; She is what she Is! - Pure "Gold", the "Impossible Dream" comes true... Incredible as ever, fantastic, you HAVE to listen to, experience and feel the passion - there aren't words enough to do justice to what Linda Eder has done with this music and her incredibly gifted voice! She soars! There's no more comparing to Babs or Judy or anyone else - Linda Eder is in with the best of the best in her class. A review of Linda's second album, years ago was written up in the Streisand Fan Mag - "Like Butter" and it noted, can't get enough Babs - turn onto Linda Eder and her incredible voice. Well the time has come and people will say that of Linda. There has to be a follow up "Broadway - Volume II". The clearest voice, beautiful and sustained singing. Fantastic tribute to the composers and knock your socks-off orchestra! One minute powerful and over the top, the next, emotional, gentle and poetic - sentimental. Some old classics and standards, some original and new - ALL done as the very best! There is no comparison! Buy this one - you'll be glad you did. Linda Eder is intoxicating! Bravo! Encore! and, thank you Linda and Frank!

Spectacular, Original..even Groundbreaking Feb 24, 2003 For years, Linda Eder has been compared to legendary singers like Judy Garland and Ella Fitgerald, but the one singer who many think Eder most closely resembles vocally is Barbra Streisand..(they both share a similar tone and range). With the release of "Broadway, My Way", Eder breaks away from all comparisons, firmly establishing a style all her own, and, incredibly enough, putting her own mark on these broadway classics. Already, this CD and its performer are receiving its share of accolades. The day after the CD went on sale, Eder performed for the third time to a sellout crowd at Carnegie Hall and received numerous standing ovations and critical acclaim, including a rave review in Variety. Her other two engagements there were greeted with similar raves and ovations. This isn't surprising given that Broadway, My Way represents something of a groundbreaking achievement. There are a lot of great broadway songs, but finding songs that haven't been recorded to death, or recorded with the same arrangements over and over has to be incredibly tough. Not only does Eder find several gems that have been passed over by others...the powerful and timely "Anthem" from Chess, the showstopping, spine-tingling "I Am What I Am" from La Cage Aux Folles, and an absolutely etheral "Edleweiss", but Eder also tackles a number of songs men made famous and makes them sound like they were written specifically for her. Theres "On the Street Where You Live" sung in an exquisite, feminine soprano, with crystalline notes held in a smooth as silk vibrato. Eder IMO is one of the best broadway belters EVER, and brings new meaning to "The Impossible Dream" and "What Kind of Fool Am I?" "Anthem" will send chills down your spine (as will many others on this CD). Arrangements are all fresh and original, with lush orchestrations that perfectly compliment Eder's voice. To be sure, this CD is not without its risks, but they all pay off 100% and more. Eder tackles "Don't Rain on My Parade", sending it to new heights with a powerful, controlled belt. She has received such acclaim for her rendition of this song in newspaper reviews and broadway forumns that it appears some of Babs fans are becoming overly defensive. They need not worry. Eder breaks the mold with this CD, showing the extent of her incredible range, adding a certain sexiness and warmth, and firmly establishing herself as one of the best (if not THE BEST) singer alive today.

The Linda Eder Album we've all been waiting for! Feb 18, 2003

Finally Linda Eder has put out a full album of broadway favorites instead of relying on her husband Frank Wildhorn to create new, and sometimes unoriginal songs for her albums. Linda uses her magnificant, powerful belt to full effect on almost every song here. Highlights include her stirring rendition of Anthem from Chess, the breathtaking Impossible Dream from Man of La Mancha, and the brassy Don't Rain on My Parade from Funny Girl. Also included are Linda classics from her previous albums such as A New Life from Jekyll and Hyde, the stunning Unusual Way from Nine, and Man of La Mancha. Her voice is just as powerful and dramatic as it ever was. Linda was meant to sing Broadway. Proving again she is one of the worlds top vocalists, this album will not disappoint!
